SHARON M. KNUDSON
Author, Speaker, Editor and Collaborator
Sharon is a full-time freelance writer with over 400 publications in 50 different periodicals. She collaborated on six books for Christian authors before signing a contract with a major publishing house for a book of her own.
Starting from Scratch When You’re Single Again (Strang Communications September 2008) features 24 stories from women who suddenly found themselves alone due to a death or divorce. She and co-author Mary Fran Heitzman interviewed and then wrote the stories of women who, through divorce or death of a loved one, survived a horrific blow to their dreams of happiness and security. Each story offers encouragement, advice, a “made from scratch” recipe, and an update with a cherry on top. The book resounds with the message that with God’s help we can get through loss and grief, and not only will we survive–we will thrive. Sharon speaks at Christian conferences, events and retreats. She is past-president of the 130-member Minnesota Christian Writers Guild, and is a Ministry Partner with the Lutheran Evangelistic Movement (L.E.M). In August, 2000 she was chosen Christian Writer of the Year by the American Christian Writers Association.
A former church organist and choir director, Sharon holds bachelors and masters degrees in music education, theory and composition. She has held administrative positions at four universities, most recently Northwestern College in Roseville.
Sharon has two grown daughters, a terrific son-in-law, and three grandchildren. She and her husband Bob are active as deacons, altar ministers, and Cleansing Stream leaders at North Heights Lutheran Church, a mega-church with two campuses in Arden Hills and Roseville, Minnesota. Her hobbies include reading, photography, gardening, and Hardunger cutwork embroidery.

I have only begun your book and am so blessed to have a friend give it to me after the division of a 34-year marriage. Like many women, my circumstances are, to me, devastating so I know your book will be most encouraging to me at a time of rebuilding and major adjustment in my life.
I wanted to let you know that I am excited to know that you are part of Cleansing Streams, a wonderful ministry of deliverance that I wish all churches would embrace for reaching the soul issues of strongholds in people’s lives that cause ugly things like pain and divorce.
